Stocksbridge Energy Future exhibition

From 22nd until 27th September the Hub on Manchester Road in Stocksbridge will be hosting the 'Stocksbridge Energy Future' exhibition. The aim of the event is to explore the potential for generating energy from renewable energy resources in the Stocksbridge area. The exhibition explores how renewable energy is currently used in the valley. It also explores how different technologies could be used to produce more energy locally. At the exhibition you can see a wonderful model of the valley made by the Sheffield University's architecture department.

Leisure Centre Raft Race

4SLC (Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre) is trying to raise much needed funds for the wet side to try and open the pool.

This event had 12 teams last year and this year only 4 teams have currently signed up. 4SLC desperately need your help to get involved and are asking if you can get a team together and support the centre.

There should be 6-8 people per team at the cost of £120.00 entry fee (£20 each for a team of 6, £15 each for a team of 8) which split between all of the team is not a lot of money to raise to help support this event.
