Stocksbridge Community Care Group (SCCG) is an established voluntary
community organisation working in the Stocksbridge, Wharncliffe Side and Oughtibridge areas.
SCCG works to combat loneliness for older people.
There is a Friendly Visitor Scheme. The scheme provides company for older
people who are lonely and isolated. Our Volunteer Visitors give their time
to befriend older people by visiting them at home for tea and a chat or
possibly taking them out.
We also run the Friday Drop-In at The Venue. Every Friday between 10am and
3pm, older people are welcome to come and spend a day (or part day) together
for a drink, company games and a light lunch.
