The Forum is often used as a point of contact by organisations such as Sheffield City Council, Northern Assemblies, environmental groups etc.

Sheffield Credit Union

We are a financial co-operative based in Sheffield which offers a savings and loans service.

The ethos is that a group of people - in this case anyone who lives or works in Sheffield - form a mutual help group by becoming members and pooling regular savings  From this pool the members can then take out affordable loans if they need one.

Stocksbridge Advice Centre

Sadly the Stocksbridge Advice Centre had to close earlier this year due to funding cuts.

However the good news is that the Sheffield Citizens Advice and Law Centre (SCALC) will be holding weekly Outreach sessions at the Stocksbridge Advice Centre from Thursday 13th February from 10-00am to 1.00pm.

If you need advice or information contact SCALC by phone or through the website.

The Steel Valley Project

Management of the local countryside involving the local community, working with trainees and volunteers.

Providing training and guidance.

Valley in Bloom

We are a group of volunteers formed 8 years ago after an invitation from Sheffield City Council’s Street Force. The group consists of approximately 20 people of all ages and all very friendly with the intention of improving the local environment and producing a year round display of flowers from one end of the valley to the other.

The Don Valley Railway Project

Born in the Autumn of 2003 when a local man (David Goodison) brought together a like-minded group of people who wished to see the local branch railway line brought into full use to provide passenger services to and from Sheffield.

A “not for profit” company, limited by guarantee, and a registered charity, the Don Valley Railway Project will see:

The Steel Valley Way Group

The group is planning to create a safe, flat and traffic free route along the valley bottom between Stocksbridge and Deepcar.

It is threatened by the proposed closure of Ford Lane due to the retail development in Stocksbridge and the issue is now the subject of a Public Enquiry.

The Steel Valley Way group is asking for your support.
