Introduction to Map Reading @ Underbank

This day is an introduction to map reading giving you the skills needed to understand and follow a map designed for parents and children to try a new skills in a fun and secure atmosphere.

Cost - £30 per person, this includes, all insurance, instruction and specialist equipment. Group discount available.

Bushcraft Skills Day at Underbank

This is a 1 day introduction to bushcraft, designed for parents and children to learn ancient skills in a fun and secure atmosphere.

Activities will include basic bushcraft skills, natural cordage, shelter building and fire lighting.

Cost - £25 per person, this includes, all insurance, instruction and specialist equipment.

SOAR Training Team

We deliver accredited and non-accredited courses within the community for individuals and groups.

Subjects include, Health, Food Safety, First Aid, Employability Skills, Health and Safety and much more.

Lipreading

Lipreading Classes are held downstairs at the Stocksbridge Library every Thursday morning 10.30am to 12.30.  People do not have to be hard of hearing themselves, anyone can come.  The cost is £5 per week.

Pam Goodison Glass

I run various workshops making stained glass and I also  undertake commissions as well as
make stained and fused glass to sell.

I run day workshops from 9.30am to 4pm including lunch. First time students pay £55 at present (cost after New Year will be £60) and this includes use of equipment and materials to make items on the day.

Returning students have to pay the same but extra for materials.

Chef on a Bike

Chef on a Bike is a home based artisan bakery in Deepcar.  Established by baker, teacher and cyclist Dave Foster in June 2011.  A member of the Real Bread Campaign it only uses organic flour from Worsbrough mill and Shiptons mill, sourdough yeast cultures and locally sourced honey and beer.  The bread can be purchased at markets at the Venue, Bradfield, Worsbrough and Wentworth.  It is also available on subscription when it is delivered by bicycle, foot or car to yoiur home.  Full details of the range of breads available are on the website.

Alternative Photonics

Mark Wrigley is a physicist who has spent most of his career in the mobile phone industry.  He has a background in optics and lighting as well as a life long interest in photography.

Mark is a member of the Institute of Physics and he also holds a Licentiateship with the Royal Photographic Society.

Sheffield U3A in Stocksbridge

SU3A is part of the national U3A – a not for profit organisation for the retired and semi-retired. There are many people in the Stocksbridge area who like to exercise their minds and bodies through a variety of activities.
