Half of Sheffield's libraries facing axe

More than half of Sheffield's libraries could shut within two years.

Stocksbridge Library is seen as one of the 12 "key" libraries which would be retained under proposals from Sheffield City Council. A further five would become "community-led" libraries, receiving guaranteed council funding for two years, while 11 would become "independent" facilities. The 12 "key" libraries would be open six days a week.
