Tesco in 2016?

Plans to transform a former patch of industrial land into a £42 million complex of housing, shops, offices, and have moved a step nearer. Contracts have been signed for the sale of land and construction of the development on a 15-acre site in the Fox Valley.

Developers Dransfield Properties say the scheme will create up to 900 jobs. Included is a giant new Tesco and a new warehouse for Tata. There will also be office space, a 635-space car park, retail, restaurant and cafe units and a new housing development.

The Great Stocksbridge Bazaar, a pop-up shop, is a unique opportunity for people to try their hand at trading on a small, low-cost scale and tap into a network of experienced market traders. We have some regular traders, but stalls change on a daily basis, so please pop in and support your local retailers, and help to bring life back into the town centre.

Window Dressing in Stocksbridge

Earlier this week, City Dressing transformed the frontage of three closed shops on Manchester Road. Funded by Sheffield City Council, the displays include, courtesy of Stocksbridge Walkers are Welcome, details of 24 local walks.
