Don Valley Railway meeting

Dear Don Valley Railway Supporters,

We are holding our monthly Drop In Session on Thursday the 5th March at the Harlequin Pub.

We are looking for people who are interested in putting together a Woodhead Exhibition to publicise the route and its history. We are also working with Del Tilling, proprietor of Elsecar Railway, who wishes to create a permanent museum feature on the line.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project it would be partticularly good to see you at this meeting.

Campaigners wishing to see passenger trains into Sheffield Victoria once again are commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the electrification of the Woodhead Rail Route - Britain’s first all electrified inter-city main line – by producing a beer and a booklet, with help from one of Sheffield many fine real ale micro-breweries.

Don Valley Railway - update

NOW IS THE TIME TO LET GOVERNMENT KNOW WE WANT THE DON VALLEY RAILWAY OPENED

Do you live in or near Oughtibridge, Deepcar, Stocksbridge or anywhere in the Upper Don Valley? Do you travel through this area? Or, would you like it to be easier to visit the beautiful countryside that formed the backdrop to the Tour de France as it sped through South Yorkshire? If so, the time is nigh!

Don Valley Railway Annual General Meeting Meeting

The Don Valley Railway Project’s aim during 2014 of funding and commissioning a detailed study showing how passenger trains to Stocksbridge will be introduced is the main issue for discussion at its forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

In addition, news that a petition to Sheffield City Council, endorsed by Stocksbridge Town Council, demonstrates the scale of support for the idea of bringing passenger services back to the line.
